CARBON CLEAR

We have been Carbon Neutral since 2009. We consulted with the experts Carbon Clear to analyse carbon production across all areas of our business, including electricity usage, recycling and company car mileage. As a result of their mandate at the end of each year we commit to funding a sustainable energy project, to offset our carbon emissions. As such, Conference Care is one of the few carbon neutral event agencies in the UK.

We are now celebrating our fourth year of being carbon neutral, and chose a Musi Hydro project in Bengkulu, Indonesia for 2012. This Run Off River Hydro project generates clean energy for the island of Sumatra by using a natural height difference in the Musi River. It is built in a way so that it has no negative impact on local irrigation systems. The project reduces greenhouse gas emissions by displacing fossil fuel generated power that would have otherwise been sourced from the Samatra grid to meet the growing energy demands in the area.
